Sanpo 散歩 means going for a walk.

I wanted to return to those places I had come to know through my Japanese grandparents. My second heritage and home. A world that was familiar to me and yet had become strangely distant. My grandfather had passed away, and with him, a part of that world. What remained was a feeling of nostalgia I thought I had lost. It was during this journey that the first image of this series was made. Since then, Sanpo has accompanied me wherever I go. Sometimes, without even realizing it, I see and feel something of that lost nostalgia again. In an overstimulated world, where everything seems to rush past like a train, moments still exist where something lights up, bringing back that feeling of nostalgia. And that makes me happy.

Sanpo is an ongoing series, started in 2021 and continuing to this day.
