Born and raised in Germany, Kensaku Hopf is a Berlin-based, self-taught photographer. His work engages with everyday scenes and social environments, often marked by distance, ambiguity, and quiet presence.
Before turning to photography, he spent many years skateboarding on a professional level, which led him into different cultural contexts and shaped his way of observing environments. He works primarily with analog photography and develops and processes his own films.
